The course will provide students with a stepping stone to a career in the sports industry. In addition, this
course will develop skills required in the work place such as: working as a team, events organising, time
management, leading a team, health and safety awareness and presentation skills.
Students should be aware that the course is not all practical; the majority of the lessons are classroom based. Therefore, students must be able to meet deadlines and to work well independently. It is also important that students applying for this course have a sound knowledge of sport, exercise, fitness and keep abreast of current sporting issues.
Successful students will ensure that all assignments are done to the best of their ability. It is expected that students will spend several hours a week on assignments, homework, research or presentations. If deadlines are not met, students are expected to stay after school to meet course expectations.
